Bush Walk - Upper Nihotupu Dam

This is the walk to Upper Nihotupu Dam. Meet at the carpark on Scenic and arrive at 10am on Saturday, 14 June.

Try this 6.4-km out-and-back trail near Huia, Auckland. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 58 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but they must be on a leash.

This is a great track for the family. It is mostly covered, so it should be good even on hot, sunny days. The change of scenery from thick tree cover to half-covered trail, then along the water. Without spoiling the surprises, there are plenty of features, stops, and views to keep it interesting and fun. A carpark is located at the trailhead.
